Meet The Team

Jonathon is a licensed optician and a co-owner of GV Optical, serving the Santa Barbara and Goleta communities. He and his brother Jacob are the third generation of opticians for GV Optical! Whether assisting with complex prescriptions, frame styling, adjustments, or eyeglass repairs, he believes that every customer deserves personalized care and attention.

Jonathon accomplished a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from UC Davis in 2017 and has been working as a fully licensed Optician since 2019. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, and playing guitar in a music group with his lifelong friends in Santa Barbara. He is proud to be continuing the business that his grandfather started, and his parents built and hopes to expand upon their vision.

Jacob is the store manager for GV Optical in Santa Barbara and co-owns the company with his brother and parents. Since GV Optical in Santa Barbara’s opening, Jacob has devoted himself to helping current and new clients. He has worked at GV Optical cumulatively for over a decade and has a deep understanding of how eyeglasses function.

Jacob attended UC Santa Barbara and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology in 2017. When he’s not working he enjoys exercising at the gym, and visiting friends up and down the coast.

GV Optical has been a staple of the Santa Barbara community since it first opened its doors in 1972. Dan joined the family legacy in 1988, and for nearly 40 years, he has guided the business with a commitment to personalized service and technical expertise.

While she was always integral behind the scenes, assisting in frame purchasing and bookkeeping duties, Jacqueline became a full time member of the team in 2000. Her ability to connect with clients and curate the frame selection at our optical makes her an outstanding asset to GVO.

As husband and wife, Dan and Jacqueline like to spend time together away from the office. Dan is an avid golfer. When he isn't working, you can find him on the golf course, perfecting his game. Jackie enjoys spending time with her sons, and taking care of her two dogs Champ and Bodhi.

Nick is a licensed optician and has been part of the team for over a year. He excels at considering frame fit and size, analyzing complex prescriptions and troubleshooting eyeglass related issues.

Nick achieved a Bachelor’s of Science in Physiology from UC Santa Barbara in 2024. When he’s not working, he enjoys playing music, collecting CDs and riding his bicycle. 

Jeannette has been a member of the GVO Team since 2019. She excels at insurance billing, administrative tasks and styling eyewear. Her attention to detail and years of experience allow her to be an excellent stylist and optical technician, regardless of the vision needs.

Jeannette is a Santa Barbara local and has spent her whole life here. She enjoys spending time with her family and is expecting her third child!
